Finland is home to a temperate climate, though temperatures can vary by large amounts in different areas of the country. The South is generally pleasant through spring to autumn, with very cold and snowy winters. The North is generally colder, especially in winter – though temperatures in Lapland have been known to hit 30C thanks to the humidity. Rainfall is consistent through the year (though it turns to snowfall in the winter).
